Insert Module Content |
Display the feed from your News Manager, Poll or Photo Gallery within the content area of one of your web pages. | |
Cut | |
Highlight the content and click this tool to remove the content from the page in order to paste it elsewhere (on the same page or another page). Note: Firefox and similar browsers do not support these tools; you must use the keyboard short cut Control + ‘X’ to cut content. |

Copy | |
Highlight the content and click this tool to duplicate the content from the page to the clipboard so that you can paste it elsewhere (on the same page or on another page). Note: Firefox and similar browsers do not support these tools; you must use the keyboard short cut Control + ‘C’ to copy content. |

Paste | |
Place your cursor where you would like to insert the content from your clipboard. Click this tool to insert the content. |

Paste as Plain Text |
Place your cursor where you would like to insert the content from your clipboard. Click this tool to paste the content onto the page. Any styling (colour, size, font style) and formatting (bold/Italics/underline) will be removed. This is useful to make the format and style of the pasted content exactly the same as the rest of your website. |

Paste from Word Document |
Place your cursor where you would like to insert the content from MS Word or an external word processor. Click this tool to insert the content. The content will be inserted with the same format but all style (i.e., font colour, font type and font size) will not be preserved. It is essential to use this tool, please see the related article called Adding text from an external word processor. |

Undo | |
Undo the last editing command. The undo is sequential; click it repeatedly to step back through all of the changes you have made in the current session. |

Redo | |
When you have performed an Undo on your content, you can redo the last editing command. This is useful if you have clicked on Undo too many times. | |
Bold | |
Highlight the text and click this tool to increase its weight or thickness. Use bold font to create emphasis throughout your text. At the time of writing it can be beneficial to your search engine rankings to make keywords on your home page bold. |

Italic | |
Highlight the text and click this tool to italicize the selected text. Italicised text is generally used to create emphasis or when quoting titles or speech. | |

Underline |
Highlight the text and click this tool to draw an unbroken line beneath the selected text. Use this with care - website visitors have come to recognise underlined text as a hyperlink so they can become frustrated when they click on an underlined word and it does not link to anything. |

Strikethrough |
Highlight the text and click this tool to draw an unbroken line through the centre of the selected text. This is commonly used to show the previous or 'slashed' price of a product. |

Align |
|
Select the text that you wish to align and then click one of the align tools. The options are justify left (default), centre, right and block (all text lines end at the same margin). |

Bulleted List |
Lists are an effective and user-friendly way to present your content. Use lists as much as possible. Highlight the text that you would like to turn into a list and click this tool. Each new line will start with a bullet and the text will be indented. To end a bulleted list, press the Enter key twice or click on the Bulleted List button again. |

Numbered List |
Lists are an effective and user-friendly way to present your content. Use lists as much as possible. Highlight the text that you would like to become a numbered list and click this tool. Each line of selected text will start with the next consecutive number. To end a numbered list, press the Enter key twice or click on the Numbered List button again. |

Outdent | |
Highlight the text and click this tool to decrease the indent on the current selected line. | |
Indent | |
Highlight the text and click this tool to increase the indent on the current line. | |

Font Colour |
Highlight the text and click this tool to change its colour. Note: Use this tool carefully. Your site will look more professional if you keep to a standardised colour scheme throughout your headings and links. To use the heading styles that are preset into your template, see the article How can I get my headings to look the same across the entire site without worrying about font styles? Also, remember that red is commonly known as an "offensive" colour for text. |

Remove Styling |
Highlight the text and click this tool to remove its formatting (all styles, colours, bold, italics, underlined etc). |

Horizontal Rule |
Place your cursor where you would like to draw a standard horizontal line across a page. Horizontal lines can be used to break up sections of content on a long page. They help users to scan through your content. | |

Insert Hyperlink |
Highlight the text that you would like to become a hyperlink and click this tool to enter the details. See the Hyperlinks page for more information. | |

Remove Link |
Highlight a hyperlink and click this tool to remove the link. | |
Insert Anchor | |
An anchor is used to create a link from one point on a page to another specific point on the same page, for example a ‘back to top’ link. See the related article Creating anchor links for more information. | |

Insert/Edit Image |
This tool is used to add images to your web page. Place your cursor where you would like an image to appear and click this tool. You can upload and insert images directly from your PC or use images that already exist in the Image Manager. See the Images page for more details. | |

Link to a File |
Highlight the text that you would like to link to a file download and click this tool to upload/select the file. See the Hyperlinks page for more details. | |

Row Properties |
Place your cursor within a row of a table. Click this tool to set the row properties such as height, width and vertical alignment. See the Text and tables page for more details. | |

Insert Row Before |
Add a new row to your table. The new row will appear above the currently selected row. | |

Delete Row |
Place your cursor within the row that you would like to delete. Click this tool. The entire row is removed from your table. | |

Split Merged Cells |

Display Guidelines |
Click this tool to show guidelines for ‘invisible’ tables in the content editor (tables that have a border width of ‘0’). The border will not display at the front end of the site but it is helpful to see it while you are editing the page. |

Insert Custom Character |
Add a non-standard text character to your content. These include fractions, symbols and accented letters. Place your cursor where you would like the special character to appear. Click this tool and choose the special character from the options. It will appear in the content editor. |
